It's Your Love

Today is our 7th Wedding Anniversary. As I look back over the last seven years I can’t believe how fast it has gone by. It just seems like yesterday that were in the St. George Temple, and now we are here with two beautiful children, a cute little house, and a happy life. I am very thankful for my family and my wonderful life that started the day that we got married. I love the man that I married. I love that he has always worked so hard so that I can be a stay at home mom. I love that he is a wonderful father. Ethan and Seth are best buddies. When Seth gets home from work the kids are so excited to see him. Our house turns chaotic as soon as they see him and he doesn’t even have time to change his clothes before they want him to play with them. I love that he is striving to install the gospel principles into our children. He always reminds us to have Family Home Evening, and family scripture study and family prayer every night. I love that he loves me and that he does so much for me from getting up with Ethan on the weekends, to staying up all night doing home repairs, to the love notes and e-mails that he sends me. I love being married and can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

The Botanical Gardens

The Denver Botanical Gardens

Today was free day at the Botanical Gardens. So, the kids and I went with another family in our ward. Charles is Ethan’s age and Dena was Ethan’s preschool teacher. So we have lots of fun when we go do things together. Even little Ciara held Dena’s hand through the gardens. The boys loved crossing the bridges and picking which paths we should go down. I don’t even know if they noticed any of the plants. Besides it being hot it was fun. I really liked the indoor tropical conservatory, and all the water features. They do a great job out there and it makes you appreciate all the beautiful things that Heavenly Father has given us. Then we were all able to go out to lunch together. It was great to spend the day with my children doing things that we normally do not do, even better when it is free!

Free Day at the Museum

A couple of weeks ago it was a free day at the Museum of Nature and Science. The kids and I went with another family from our ward. It was so much fun. Ethan loved the mummies, and the astronaut. I am so glad that I am able to stay home with my children and experience things like this with them.

Our 4th of July Activities!

We had a great 4th of July weekend! We were really busy and had a lot of fun. On Friday the 4th we started it off by going to the Meadows 4th of July Celebration. There we played games like bowling, horse-shoes, and slid down the blow-up slide. The kids received lots of little fourth of July prizes for playing the games.

Then later that day we had a couple of families from our ward over to have a BBQ. We had lots of food, fun games, and enjoyed watching all the kids playing together. It is great to interact with other families that have the same standards that you do and that are a positive influence of your children.

That night we went to watch the Castle Rock fireworks. We found great seats, had lots of popcorn, and excited kids. Before the fir works show there were some kids setting off their own little fireworks that Ethan thought was cool, and Ciara kept saying pretty. When they begin to shot off the big ones Ciara did not think they were that pretty. She snuggled with her dad and was perfectly happy. Ethan loved naming the colors and shapes of the fireworks.

Our other 4th of July project was painting my loft and stairwell. In our spare time this weekend we took everything out of the playroom, painted, and began putting everything back together. Now every wall in my house is painted. It feels great to accomplish something, and improve the look of your house plus it is a great opportunity for Seth and I to talk and spend time together.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Evans!

Today is my Grandpa's 91st Birthday! As I thought about him this morning I wish I could be in Parowan to hug him and tell him how much I love him. Grandpa, along with Grandma, are incredible people. Everyone who knows him loves him. I have many great memories of him. I remember loving to sit on his lap so that I could play with his cool gun tie tack. I remember the time that we went on a big family vacation with Yellowstone and how Grandpa loved to talk into the walkie-talkies to all the other cars following him. Grandpa is the head of our family and his legacy lives on in each of us. From Grandpa Evans we all have learned to work hard, to take a joke and occasionally give a joke, and he has taught by his example how important church and family are. We just want to wish our Grandpa Evans a big Happy Birthday!
