Ever since I was a little girl I loved to see the temple. Growing up I loved see the nativity on the temple grounds of the St. George temple during Christmas time. I loved driving by a temple at night when it was all lit up. Now I love going and feeling the wonderful spirit that you can only feel in the temple. What a blessing the temple is in my life!
Seth and I try to go often and we hope we are teaching our children of the importance of the temple. So we take them regularly and hope that they can feel how special it is just by being on the temple grounds. My testimony of temples can be described in this primary song:
I love to see the temple. I’ll go inside someday.
I’ll covenant with my Father; I’ll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I’ve learned this truth
A family is forever.
Seth and I were asked to give a talk on temples at the beginning of the month. It was such a special blessing to be able to prepare together, study together, and attend the temple together in preparation for our talking assignment. Here is a small part of my talk that I always want to remember:I’ll covenant with my Father; I’ll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I’ve learned this truth
A family is forever.
I attended the temple shortly after my grandmother’s funeral. I went with a melancholy spirit as I pondered the things that just had happened. As I thought about my grandparents and wondering what they where doing, what it was like, and thoughts like that I felt my grandfather there. I felt him, his personality and all, just the way he was. And as if he was talking to me in person I felt him say in only a way that Grandpa Evans could say, that he expects me to live up to the covenants made in the temple each and everyday. That is an experience that I will never forget and testifies of the power of temple work and eternal families.
