Back To School

School is back in session! This year we decided to enroll our children into the new charter school that opened this year, and so far we are loving it! The kids wear cute little uniforms everyday, the school goes through middle school, and they don't start until after Labor Day! We had a nice long summer!

Ethan is loving school this year. He has a teacher who just graduated and seems to be adapting well to her teaching. Ethan worked really hard this summer and mastered all of his multiplication facts! I am so proud of his hard work and determination.

Ciara is such a sweet little thing. She loves to learn and tries so hard. She has worked really hard this summer on her reading.

Wow, I can't believe my kiddos are getting so big!

Outside of the school on their first day.

Bella's first day of preschool was also the same day! She was been ready and wanting to go for so long! She was beyond excited!!!! A few families in our ward are doing a preschool co-op and we will rotate in teaching each week.

So excited she could barley stand it!!!!

Jonathan fell asleep in the stroller on our walk back home from dropping off Bella and woke up so super happy! I just love this kid!

I am so excited for this year and all that my kids will learn. This year before school started Seth and I decided to establish a family theme to think about and work on throughout the school year. I choose the theme REMEMBER using the scripture Heleman 5:12- And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your  foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Then we talked with the children about what that scripture meant and that they always needed to remember who they are no matter where they are or what they are doing. I made them signs for each of their bedrooms that say

                                             ALWAYS REMEMBER

You are a Son of God
To build a foundation on Jesus Christ
It feels good to do what is right
All the blessings God has given you
Treasured and Loved beyond measure!

The kids received back to school father's blessings and I hope that by discussing this as a family through the year that the children will grow and develop a testimony about this principle.
